AgelCares 2010 Veterans Day Walk Of Hope

NEW YORK CITY VETERANS DAY PARADE

NOVEMBER 11, 2010

Our troops offer their lives for us… let’s show them we appreciate their sacrifices, by giving back to them!

To give back to the veterans and to salute our currently serving military who risk their lives for our freedom, November 11th we will be walking and raising money in their honor.

One of AgelCares current beneficiaries is the San Antonio Massage Clinic in San Antonio, Texas. The clinic provides critical tissue rehabilitation for burned veterans of the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Supporting the veterans is only one aspect of AgelCares. They also provide medical care and educational needs for children throughout the world. Every $15 raised allows a child with cataracts to see – saving him or her from a life of blindness. Every $25 raised cures a child of cleft palate, saving him or her from a lifetime of ridicule. Every $40 raised enables a child born with club feet to walk- without this surgery, a child that would be crippled for life.

NOW WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Welcome to the AgelCares Walk of Hope in the 2010 NYC Veterans Day Parade! For a donation of just $35 you can march in the parade. You will be given a t-shirt to commemorate the event and all of the proceeds go to veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. This is a tax deductible donation.

Join us for a patriotic day dedicated to our US Veterans who have served our country with distinction. The parade goes up Fifth Avenue from 26th to 56th Street. The route is 0.7 miles. The walk starts after the opening ceremony which begins at 10am and concludes with the wreath laying at 11am (The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month). We will send out an update of where our group will meet before the day of the parade.

The walk is scheduled for Thursday, November 11, 2010. To participate, you will need to register here. We will then send you a Walker’s Package which will guide you in obtaining sponsors and raising funds for AgelCares.

Want to support the cause but cannot walk in the parade? There is a drop down box that can be selected for our event "NYC Walk" here.

Want to see past AgelCares Walk For Hope events? This is the walk we did in Las Vegas in September.

This is an open event. Feel free to add additional invites to friends and family. But you must be registered in order to participate.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Ross

A Little Bit Of Unsolicited Advice

I recently spoke with a friend involved with a party MLM. I think you know the one I mean. It's a party. They cook for you and if you're lucky, you go home with an orange peeler. I do not mean to demean this company. I love this company. The product is great and it was the first time my wife and I got involved with MLM. She did the work and I carried the crate. Well, I spoke with this friend about the importance of recruiting because this company stresses product first. She told me that because she is not a "natural born salesman" recruiting was difficult for her. This gave me pause because I thought, "that makes recruiting infinitely better for you." Our industry punishes those with a slick salesman style. While you may be able to recruit into your opportunity at will, it won't be duplicatable for your new additions. You won't be able to build a strong organization with deep lines that way. You need a duplicatable system.

When it comes to recruiting, it is better not to try and sell them. People can spot that a mile away and they don't care for it. It's better just to be real with them. I never hold back. I tell them truthfully, "My wife and I were facing financial ruin. My wife had just been laid off from work following $75,000 back surgery. On that same day, this opportunity was brought to us. We really see it as a gift. We're using it to rebuild our lives and if you're smart, maybe you'll come along and rebuild yours."

More people are hurting today than will admit it. We have the gift. Be bold and offer it to them. Find your story like I did and make it part of your recruiting. Tell it as often as you can. Own it. If you've had financial difficulties in the past or presently have them, tell them. It may be difficult in the beginning to be that open but we need to strip away the misconceptions that have unfairly been attached to our industry due to a few bad apples. It may be hard to lay yourself out there but it's honest and people respond to it and then are able to see themselves in your story.

Is MLM A People Helping People Business?

Have you ever been accused of being a greedy person because you are involved in network marketing?

I find this to be common amongst religious circles because there are a certain group of people, with a ‘Holier than Thou’ attitude who seem to proclaim that network marketing, the art of recruiting people and making money off their downlines is an inherently greedy, self-centered industry.

I seriously beg to differ.

People who claim that network marketers are greedy people are missing the point of the business. I believe that the network marketing industry is a wonderful industry not because of the income potential but because of the way the business model is built (as Robert Kiyosaki pointed out that MLM is his definition of a perfect business).

I call it a business of people helping people.

You see, in network marketing, I need to build a team of downlines and leverage on their efforts in order for me to succeed. But before I can achieve that, I need to ‘pay-it-forward’ first by spending my time and my money to train my downlines to be a success.

Unlike in the real world, if you train an apprentice to be a master like you, they will run off and open a new shop – hence becoming your competitor! However, in network marketing, I can do my very best for my downline. In fact, even if they surpass my income or surpass my pin level, I’m even happier for them because I will be laughing all the way to the bank (while feeling happy for my successful downline at the same time!)

Furthermore, I am also able to give a very good opportunity to someone else. Make no mistake about this – the economy is in shambles and there is a lack of opportunities everywhere. People are getting retrenched and unemployment rates are hitting the roof! If we don’t do sometime and help people FAST, more and more families are going to suffer!

That is why I am more convicted than ever when it comes to helping people with my network marketing business. I offer them a glorious opportunity to make the best of what they have in their hands.

So is network marketing a ‘greedy’ business? Only if the individual building it is inherently greedy. After all, there isn’t a perfect business model in the world and humans aren’t so perfect either. All you need to do is to do your best, help others and provide value for others and you will have a clear conscience about your network marketing business.

People Turn To “Network Marketing” In A Soft Economy

By Chris Pollone
Reporter
Published: February 17, 2009

BIRMINGHAM, Ala—While her husband was searching for full time work, Jennifer Grissom of Birmingham decided to make a little money on the side on top of her full-time job.

"I had to find some way to get an extra line of income that worked in the hours I had available to me," she said.

Since November, Jennifer's been selling skin care products for Arbonne International.

The company relies on a network of sales consultants who recruit other people to sell the product as well.

The more people a sales consultant recruits, the bigger her potential earnings are.

It might sound like a pyramid scheme to some, but marketing experts say it's not.

"These are legitimate businesses, though you want to make sure you're working for a good business, always," Dr. Betsy Holloway of Samford University's Brock School of Business said.

It's called "network marketing" or "multi-level marketing" (MLM) and it's been around for decades.

Companies like Amway, The Pampered Chef, and Tupperware work under similar arrangements.

Doctor Holloway said direct retail like this has been growing for a decade, and there's potential for it to get even bigger.

"I think in today's economy with the layoffs that we have and people desperate to find work, there's going to be increased demand in these sorts of opportunities."

Jennifer Grissom said she had to overcome a preconceived stigma of network marketing and the fear of rejection we all have.

"It's not easy, but it is simple," Grissom said. "You just have to be able to understand it, and be enthusiastic, without being annoying."

She's exceeding her expectations just three months after starting.

Experts advise if someone wants you to join a network marketing opportunity, take time to research the company.

Check to see if it belongs to the Direct Selling Association, a group that holds companies to strict standards of operation.

They say that can help ensure you're joining a legitimate business, and not signing up for a risky scheme.

Making The First Circle Work

One of the biggest complaints I hear is people talking about their team members. Complaining that they don’t buy enough, sponsor enough, work hard enough of anything else enough. What I hear the most is, “Why can’t I find more people like me?”

That’s the problem. You did.

Because most of your people are duplicating what you do. That is sponsoring a few people then chasing after them, trying to goad them on to making you rich. But to make the circles work, you have to make the first circle work.

And that begins with you.

What is your personal use volume? How much retail volume do you produce? How many people have you sponsored? How many nights a week are you in the living rooms and media rooms, working in depth helping to build the business?

What is the behavior you are modeling for your team?

You can’t manage your way to the top of this business. And you can’t manage people. You lead people and you manage things.

So are you leading?
